December 2009
This is my dad's favorite picture, probably ever.
I took this shot from Alaska's Big Blue Canoe, a.k.a. Ferry. I was travelling from Kake to Juneau, on the milk-run. It stops in Sitka, Hoonah (sometimes, and sometimes Angoon), then finally to Juneau. I went to Kake for a khoo.éex' for my lover's grandma. Then, we stayed for Christmas. It was one of the most beautiful rides I've experienced thus far.
Fishing is a way of life, and for people who live it there are ups and downs. This is definitely an "up". I come from a family of fisherman. My grandpa was a fisherman. My parents are fisherman. I know that because of the "ups" like this, they wished they could live on a boat for the rest of their lives and fish...or just be.
