1: Going Home

In February of 2010, Grandma Helen Sh Toolgé Skeek, age 99, passed away.
On her final journey home, the water was easy but it looked troubled.

As we neared the town of Kake, pop. est. <450, the waters calmed, and soon the only ripples were the faint, soft ripples that came from the Big Blue Canoe.  This is a picture of that moment, when the waters began to calm as Grandma Helen was brought home for the last time, and her final resting place.
