Boardwalk, Downtown Juneau.
Fall 2009
My life be like...
Everywhere I go I am fortunate to see the beauty in where I am physically, and that fact puts me in a beautiful place mentally. I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Anaska (Lingít for Alaska). Everywhere you go, the world seems so real because it is relatively untouched... and I love that. I was born here, my people have been here since time immemorial, and I will die here.
On this day, my Love and I traveled the bus downtown. It's an hour ride to town from Auke Bay, and if you're a motion sensitive person it can feel even longer. We had just arrived to Juneau for our first year at the University of Alaska Southeast. We knew no one yet, we only had each other. The only time we ever came to Juneau was for Celebration, and that's how we found ourselves downtown on this warm, overcast Saturday.
We were interested in something safe, and comfortable. Celebration is always held in downtown Juneau, so that's where we went. We thrifted, we walked, we dined...it was a good day. The sun was shining bright through the clouds, so it was present and the breeze warm...it was perfect. We walked the boardwalk, holding hands and conversing casually.
These flowers lined the boardwalk in different shades and sizes. I loved how humbly and graceully they blew in the wind. *snap.

Sounds like a wonderful day, you take great photographs.
